Low Carb Pasta Skillet

Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • ¼ red bell pepper, diced 

  • ½ cup sliced crimini mushrooms

  • 1 (14 oz) jar no-sugar-added marinara sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • ¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli

Directions:

  1. In a large sauce pan, add your avocado oil and ground beef. Cook ground beef until it’s about ¾ of the way done (about 5 mins) on medium high heat. 

  2. Add in your onion, garlic, bell peppers and saute with ground beef until translucent and fully cooked (about 3 more minutes).

  3. Add your mushrooms and cook. 

  4. At this point, season your dish. I use salt, pepper, red pepper flakes. You can add more garlic and onion powder as well. 

  5. Add your marinara sauce and mix. Turn your heat to low and simmer and let your sauce thicken for a few minutes. 

  6. Add your fresh broccoli and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. 

  7. Top with parmesan cheese and enjoy!
